The Italian Navy’s Training Ship “Amerigo Vespucci”, an ambassador of Italian excellence around the world, is sailing towards the port of Montréal, where she will call from July 29 to August 3 for the second Canadian stop of her World Tour – North America Campaign 2026, following the great success of her visit to Québec City.
During her stay in Montréal, the training ship will host a comprehensive programme of institutional, scientific and community events. On July 30, she will host the scientific seminar “De l’Amerigo Vespucci à la navigation du futur: systèmes autonomes, IA et matériaux avancés”, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Canada in collaboration with Réseau Québec Maritime and Polytechnique Montréal International. The seminar will focus on the future of navigation, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials for the maritime sector, bringing together institutional representatives and researchers. In addition, on August 2, the training ship will host a Holy Mass for the Italian community in Montréal.
The Amerigo Vespucci will be open to the public free of charge on Saturday, 1 August, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday, 2 August, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. More information is available at the following website: Amerigo Vespucci Tour Mondiale 2023-2025.
Announced by the Italian Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour – North America Campaign 2026 is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence and the Italian Navy, produced by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. The project is developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Culture, the Minister for Sport and Youth, and the Minister for Disabilities.
