The Italian Ambassador to Canada, Alessandro Cattaneo, was received yesterday by the Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, the Hon. Greg Fergus.
At the centre of their cordial conversation was a shared reflection on the most topical issues on the international agenda, starting with the war in Ukraine, and in the context of the G7 Presidency, which Canada will exercise this year after the Italian one.
Fergus and Cattaneo agreed on the excellent state of bilateral relations between Canada and Italy in all domains and the need to work towards their further strengthening, including with the aim of enhancing the links between Canada and the European Union and consolidating NATO and the broader transatlantic community.
