Call for applications “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award”, “L’innovazione che parla italiano” Award, and “Science, She Says!” Award

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announces the eighth edition of the “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” and “The innovation that speaks Italian” Award, and the third edition of the “Science, she Says!” Award.

The “Italian Bilateral Scientific Cooperation Award” is dedicated to senior researchers who have distinguished themselves in the context of the country in which they operate. Applications will be examined by a Scientific Committee composed of MUR and MAECI, the Presidents of the main research centers, and the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities (CRUI). You cannot apply for this prize, you must receive a nomination.

The “L’innovazione che parla italiano” Award is a recognition of the other innovative value of technology startups operating abroad and founded by Italian citizens. Applications will be reviewed by a Technical Committee coordinated by PNI Cube (an association that brings together the incubators and the Italian academic “business plan competition”, created to stimulate the birth and accompany of new companies to the market with high content of knowledge from university). This prize is open to self-entries.

The “Science, She Says!” Award aims to recognize an outstanding junior female scientist who has remarkably contributed to the advancement of science and technology, while performing her research in North America. Italian researchers are not eligible for this prize. All fields of science and technology will be considered. The nominee should be resident in the country where she is nominated for the award, at least since January 1st 2023. The age limit is up to 40 years old at the time of publication of this notice. The nomination should be submitted by an eminent scientist who is holding a leading position in a Scientific Academy, University, Research Institute or S&T Department of the Government of Canada in which the nominee is working. Self-nominations are not eligible, nor are nominations from immediate family members.

The Award Committee, chaired by the Head of Office IX of the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of MAECI, will be composed by the Presidents and/or Representatives of the major Italian Research and Academic Institutions.

The award ceremony is scheduled for the next edition of the Conference of Scientific Attachés, which will take place in 2025 in the presence of the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
