International Film Festival of Ottawa in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Canada

The International Film Festival of Ottawa (IFFO) organized on March 21 the screening of “Kidnapped,” a historical film on the Edgardo Mortara case by Italian director Marco Bellocchio, presented at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. The film followed the “SAVE AS” conference dedicated to the preservation, restoration, distribution and exhibition of cinema heritage, with the special participation of Cecilia Cenciarelli, Head of Research and International Projects at Cineteca di Bologna, known worldwide for the richness of its archives. The two initiatives were carried out with the support of the Italian Embassy in Canada and are part of the growing and fruitful cooperation between Italy and Canada in the cinematic sector, as demonstrated by the various collaborations already in place with the Canadian Film Institute in Ottawa – co-organizer of European Film Festivals in Canada – and the Italian Contemporary Film Festival in Toronto.
