The new ATRIO portal (the Online Archive of International Treaties) is now available for reference and study. Curated by the Service for Legal Affairs, Diplomatic Disputes and International Agreements of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this advanced tool allows makes it possible to access all international agreements binding Italy through a simple and intuitive interface. Users will be able to promptly locate the texts of all international agreements in effect for Italy, as well as consult, extract, analyze and aggregate the data and information available for each agreement.
The task of organizing, verifying, and digitizing the over 6,000 bilateral and multilateral international agreements signed by Italy, and preserved in their original form in the Ministry’s Treaty Archive, is part of an in-depth review of Italy’s practice regarding Treaties, and is aimed at promoting and enhancing the country’s legal diplomacy initiatives.
