On August 4, 2021, the Ministry of Health published the rules governing the issue of the EU Digital Covid Certificate to Italian citizens who were vaccinated against COVID-19 abroad (with vaccines recognized by the EMA) or who recovered abroad. Whether or not they are registered with the national health service (SSN) or the health plan for flight crews or marine personnel (SASN), the said citizens and the family members in their household, if they are in Italy, may obtain the certificate from their local health unit (ASL) in accordance with the rules established by the Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
The Notice also applies to persons who received the first dose of a multi-dose vaccine abroad, with certain conditions.
