Italiana is the Italian Foreign Ministry’s reply to the worldwide demand for Italian culture. Think of it as one-stop shop for music and the performing arts, publishing and literature, cinema and the visual arts, archaeology and cultural heritage, design, and food & wine culture.
In this project, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is both the producer and promoter of events under Italy’s integrated promotion plan. It is an exciting investment in the development of Italy’s creative and cultural sector, one that is driven toward innovation and growth at the international level as well.
From the very beginning of the pandemic, the Ministry supported the internationalisation of artists and cultural and creative industries by allocating additional resources, and by producing and promoting original content and over 400 original works involving hundreds of artists and culture professionals. This commitment was in turn supported by the events, both virtual and in-person, organised by the network of 128 Embassies and Permanent Missions, 81 Consulates, and 82 Cultural Institutes that, together with the system of Italian schools abroad, the Italian government lecturers active in universities around the world, and official archaeology missions, make up the worldwide cultural action network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Beginning today, all this is available online, anywhere in the world and free of charge, through cultural content and news that will continue to grow daily.
Welcome to italiana. Italy has never been this close.
