Minister Alfano at Amatrice with Justin Trudeau

“The visit by a Head of Government of the G7 to Amatrice is, without doubt, a gesture of great sensitivity towards the people who have been struck by an extremely violent earthquake that has upturned their lives, as well as clear evidence of the friendship that binds Italy to Canada. In addition to expressing the concrete solidarity of his population, the Canadian prime minister will be able to discover an area that is famous worldwide for its natural and artistic beauty and excellent food; and optimising these will be an essential “ingredient” in supplying “oxygen” to an economy that has been struck severely by the earthquake. Our Government is working very hard to support the population of the central Italy areas hit almost a year ago by the earthquake,” said Minister Alfano during his visit on Sunday.
