Foreign Affairs Minister Paolo Gentiloni is in London to attend the ministerial meeting on Syria at the Foreign Office in a “like-minded” format that will include the United Kingdom, U.S.A., France, Germany, Italy, EU, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, Jordan, and Qatar. The meeting will also be attended by Riad Hijab, General Coordinator of the High Negotiating Committee (HNC) and representative of the Syrian opposition.
The London Ministerial meeting is being held at a critical moment in the Syrian crisis, following up on the meetings of 9 May in Paris and 19 July in London. It is aimed at enhancing the efforts made by the opposition to try and find a moderate and joint solution to the situation in Syria.
