South Sudan: Italian and EU citizens repatriated from Juba​

This morning an airplane of the Italian Air Force took off from the capital of South Sudan with on board 30 Italian citizens who have decided to leave Juba following the recent events.

The Italians will be accommodated in Italy’s military base in Djibouti and subsequently follow on to their final destinations. On board of the plane, in addition to the staff of the Italian Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management Unit, are also European Union citizens who asked for help to leave the Country.

The operation was carried out by Italy’s Crisis Management Unit in coordination with those of other EU Countries.
