The Ambassador of Italy to Canada, Gian Lorenzo Cornado, today hosted at his residence the inauguration of the “Italian Car Parade,” one of the feature events of the “FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival.” Organized by the Ottawa Chapter of the Ferrari Club of America (FCA,) the Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year; held over three days (June 19 to 21) it brings together owners and fans of the Ferrari marque, and is a much-awaited and very popular event in the National Capital.
In his remarks, Ambassador Cornado underlined how the “FCA Ottawa Ferrari Festival” constitutes an extraordinary occasion not only to promote a world-famous Italian brand, but also to celebrate the friendship between Italy and Canada. “A friendship” – he stressed – “which rests of the solid foundation of over a million and a half Canadians of Italian origin.”
The “Italian Car Parade,” consisting of over 50 Ferrari automobiles, (among them several Testarossas, F430s e 308 GTBs) then headed down the driveway of the Ambassador’s residence and headed to Preston Street in Ottawa’s “Little Italy” where thousands of spectators awaited their arrival.
