The Embassy of Italy in Ottawa issues a call for proposals for health insurance companies interested in providing health insurance for the Italian public service employees and their dependents in Canada.
Opening of administrative dossiers.
Administrative dossiers will be opened at the Embassy of Italy on March 9th, at 11:00am. Legal representatives of the companies which have submitted a bid will have the possibility to attend the public session, either personally or by duly appointing a designee.
Please send an email by Friday the 6th at 3pm to ottawa.admin@esteri.it to inform about your attendance by specifying the name of the attendee.
Another public session will be convened for the opening of economic offers. The date will be further communicated on this same webpage.

Q.1: The invitation to bid refers to an Attachment 1 document. Please confirm it refers to the Annex-1 provided.

Q.2: The administrative dossier must contain a copy of ID of bidder. Please elaborate what exactly you’re looking for. It’s the company bidding on the RFP, not an individual. The proposal will be signed by our president and obviously holds legal authorization to bind the organization. Do we need to provide copy of the president ID or the Corporation tax ID, certifying the corporation is sufficient?
A.2: The signer’s identity document is the identity document of the person who signs annex 1. The ID can be a driving license.
Q.3: As a privately held Canadian company, the company does not publicly release financial statements or business plans requested in item f) of the administrative dossier. Please propose an alternate method to validate financial viability.
A.3 : One of the following:
- CRA statement of account,
- Equifax commercial,
- accountant-reviewed statement,
- bank reference letter
- Or any other document where there is proof of financial viability.
Q.4: Attesting a document with a notary public signature is an unusual request that may take us some time. We have a quicker access to a lawyer with an external firm that can certify our statements and declarations. Would this be sufficient?

Q.6 Would you be willing to accept a password protected digitally executed document, including digital signatures, in lieu of notarized or wet‑signed originals?
A.6 We can accept documents bearing digital signatures; however, they must be provided on a USB drive and enclosed within the corresponding envelope.
