Ambassador Cattaneo in Toronto for the CIBPA Gala

The Ambassador of Italy to Canada, H.E. Alessandro Cattaneo, attended the 74th CIBPA (Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association) President’s Gala in Toronto yesterday. CIBPA is one of the oldest and most prominent organizations within the Italian-Canadian community, supporting Canadian entrepreneurs of Italian heritage and promoting initiatives aimed at fostering the cultural and social development of the community.

This year’s President’s Gala brought together approximately 900 guests, including several members of the federal Parliament — among them Senator Toni Varone and MPs Vince Gasparro, Anna Roberts and Michael Guglielmin — as well as members of the Ontario Legislature, Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca, Consul General of Italy in Toronto Andrea Bertozzi, local representatives, and numerous Canadian and Italian business leaders.

During the evening, awards were presented to Italian-Canadian entrepreneurs who have distinguished themselves through their professional achievements and service to the community, including Rogers CEO Anthony Staffieri and Masters Insurance founder Sam Ciccolini.

In his remarks, Ambassador Alessandro Cattaneo highlighted the outstanding contribution of the Italian-Canadian community, and in particular of entrepreneurs of Italian heritage, to Canada’s growth and development. The Ambassador also recalled the upcoming Italy-Canada Business Forum, which will take place in Toronto on October 29.
