Today, the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, sent the following message of condolences to the Governor General of Canada, H.E. Mary May Simon:
«All of Italy has learned with shock of the shooting that has struck the town of Tumbler Ridge, in British Columbia, causing many victims and an even greater number of casualties.
In this time of mourning, I wish to convey to You the expressions of the deepest condolences of the Italian Republic and my own.
We stand close, with heartfelt solidarity, to the families in their grief in the face of such a brutal act of violence perpetrated in a school.
To the injured, we extend our wishes for a swift and full recovery».
