In recognition of the vitality of the Italian scientific community in Canada, the establishment of the Quebec Chapter of ISSNAF has been formally announced. ISSNAF, a non-profit organization founded in 2007 by 36 prominent Italian scientists in North America under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, aims to connect, promote, and celebrate the Italian intellectual diaspora in North America. The regional Chapters of ISSNAF foster connections among scholars, researchers, and scientists at the local level, strengthening cultural, scientific, academic, and technological cooperation with public and private institutions in both North America and Italy.

Three Italian researchers active in Canada have also received major international recognitions, further confirming the excellence and dynamism of the Italian scientific community in the country. Paola Marignani, Professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax and founder of the organization Canadian Women in STEM, has been awarded the prestigious Discovery Awards Science Champion, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to advancing scientific and technological education and careers in STEM fields. Patrizio Antici, Professor at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique in Montreal, has received the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award for his excellent achievements in scientific research and academic activity. Lastly, Gabriel Niccoli, Professor at the University of Waterloo, has been awarded the Luce del Sud Prize, bestowed upon individuals who, having achieved significant professional and social milestones, serve as role models for younger generations.
