On October 17th and 18th, the Ambassador of Italy to Canada, Alessandro Cattaneo, carried out a mission to the province of New Brunswick, where he visited Fredericton and Moncton, accompanied by the Consul General of Italy in Montreal, Enrico Pavone.

In the provincial capital, Fredericton, Ambassador Cattaneo was received by Premier Susan Holt.
The long and cordial meeting with the Premier focused on the prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and New Brunswick in the industrial, commercial, scientific, and technological sectors.
Special attention was given to sectors where opportunities for industrial collaboration appear most promising, such as energy, critical minerals, defense, and infrastructure.

The visit allowed Ambassador Cattaneo to meet with numerous institutional and economic representatives, including Member of Parliament Ginette Petitpas Taylor and the Mayor of Moncton, Paulette Thériault.

Ambassador Cattaneo also attended a dinner organized by the Italian Association of Moncton to celebrate its fifty years of activity. The Association is an active and dynamic point of reference for the local Italian and Italian-Canadian community, having recently promoted new Italian language courses with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Welcomed by President Vincenzo Delle Donne and Vice President and Honorary Consular Correspondent Francesco Calazzo, Ambassador Cattaneo addressed greetings to the approximately 200 guests, among whom were many local political and trade personalities.
