{"id":2393,"date":"2015-11-03T21:34:24","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T20:34:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2015\/11\/festa-delle-forze-armate\/"},"modified":"2015-11-03T21:34:24","modified_gmt":"2015-11-03T20:34:24","slug":"festa-delle-forze-armate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2015\/11\/festa-delle-forze-armate\/","title":{"rendered":"Ottawa, 2 novembre 2015 &#8211; Festa Nazionale delle Forze Armate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>Il 2 novembre 2015 a Ottawa presso il Museo dell&#8217;Aviazione e dello Spazio si \u00e8 svolta la celebrazione della Festa Nazionale delle Forze Armate, alla presenza dell\u2019Ambasciatore d\u2019Italia Gian Lorenzo Cornado e del Generale di Divisione Aerea Luca Goretti, Addetto per la Difesa e la Cooperazione per la Difesa. Hanno partecipato all\u2019evento rappresentanti ad alto livello delle Autorit\u00e0 civili e militari del Canada, tra i quali il Capo di Stato Maggiore della Difesa, Generale Jonathan Vance. \u201cOggi celebriamo gli uomini e le donne che hanno sacrificato la loro vita per il nostro Paese, la nostra libert\u00e0 e per creare un future di pace\u201d \u2013 ha detto il Generale Goretti nel suo saluto introduttivo.<BR>Nel corso del suo intervento l\u2019Ambasciatore Cornado ha evidenziato la forte amicizia tra Italia e Canada e i profondi legami che uniscono le rispettive forze armate, fondati su un impegno comune in teatri operativi come l\u2019Irak ed una visione condivisa su tutti i temi di politica internazionale.<BR>L\u2019evento ha rappresentato anche l\u2019occasione per ricordare il contributo dei 93.000 soldati canadesi (6.000 dei quali perdettero la loro vita sul fronte) alla liberazione dell\u2019Italia dal nazifascismo: \u201cE\u2019 grazie a questi coraggiosi soldati\u201d \u2013 ha sottolineato l\u2019Ambasciatore Cornado \u2013 \u201cche le generazioni nate e cresciute nel dopoguerra hanno ricevuto in dono la pace,\u00a0 la libert\u00e0, la sicurezza e la democrazia\u201d. <BR><BR><BR><U>Test dell&#8217;intervento dell&#8217;Ambasciatore Cornado:<\/U><\/P><P><EM>DISCORSO FESTA DELLE FORZE ARMATE &#8211; 2 NOVEMBRE 2015 <BR>Dear Ambassadors and Defense Attaches, Dear Members of\u00a0 Parliament, Dear General Jonathan Vance,\u00a0 Dear Members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Ladies and Gentlemen,\u00a0\u00a0 <BR>my special thanks to all of you for being with us tonight at the wonderful Space and Aviation Museum on the occasion of the Italian Armed Forces Day!\u00a0 Your presence proves your friendship towards my Country, as well as your tribute for the women and men who have fallen, or been wounded, in the line of duty, and for their families. <BR>By being here, you are also honoring those who serve today with commitment and dedication. <BR>For the past decades thousands of Italians and Canadians have earned enormous respect \u2013 at home and abroad \u2013 by answering the call to bring peace around the world in many international military operations. <BR>It is thanks to these military &#8211; allow me to call them heroes &#8211; that our two Countries can enjoy those fundamental values of liberty, democracy, rule of law and promotion of human rights, which form the very essence of our two nations. <BR>\u00a0<BR>I am grateful to Major General Luca Goretti our Defense Attach\u00e9 and to all his team &#8211; the officers and members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri &#8211; for making this event possible. <BR>We are proud to have you here.<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>In two days, on November 4th, the Italians will celebrate the end of World War One. <BR>It is a date which has long been proclaimed Victory Day and the day of National Unity and which now celebrates the Italain Armed Forces Day. <BR>\u00a0<BR>Canada and Italy defended together\u00a0 in the past and stull defend today, core values which are still crucial today. <BR>It is these ideals which motivated our forces: whether they serve shoulder-to-shoulder in Afghanistan in Lebanon, in the Unified Protector mission, in the Balkans, or yet today in Irak in the anti ISIS international coaliton.<BR>The close friendship that joins Italy and Canada is reinforced by the deeply rooted bonds between our Armed Forces and is founded on many years of working closely together in NATO, within the United Nations, the G7, the G20, and on deeply shared views on all international issues.<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>This year&#8217;s celebration also invites us to remember and to honour the one hundred thousand Canadians who 70 years ago sacrificed their youth, and in too many cases, their lives in Ortona, in the Liri Valley, and in Montecassino, to free Italy and Europe from Nazi tyranny and occupation.<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>\u00a0We will\u00a0 never forget the generosity, the sacrifices, and the blood shed by the 6,000 Canadian military who never returned to their homes in order to save ours, who would never again embrace their families so that our families could raise their children in a free country and live in a better future.\u00a0 To these brave and valiant soldiers, and to Canada, we owe an eternal debt of gratitude because\u00a0 it is from them, that the generations raised in Italy in the post-war years received the gifts of freedom, peace, democracy, security and prosperity.<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>Mais l&#8217;evenement de ce soir a lieu aussi \u00e0 quelques jours des comm\u00e9morations du premier anniversaire\u00a0 des attentats terroristes qui ont coute la vie, il y a un an, \u00e0 deux valeureux soldats canadiens, l&#8217;Adjudant Patrice Vincent \u00e0 Saint Jean-sur-Richelieu et le Caporal Nathan Cirillo \u00e0 Ottawa. <\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>Mes pens\u00e9es vont, en ce moment,\u00a0 aux familles des deux militaires tu\u00e9s et en particulier au\u00a0 fils du Caporal Cirillo, le petit Marcus Daniel.<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM>J\u2019\u00e9prouve une grande admiration pour les forces arm\u00e9es, les autorit\u00e9s et les citoyens canadiens qui il y a un an on fait preuve d\u2019un calme et d\u2019une retenue extraordinaire dans un des moments les plus dramatiques de l\u2019histoire du Canada.\u00a0 Jamais je ne pourrai oublier la s\u00e9ance solennelle qui s\u2019est tenue au Parlement au lendemain des \u00e9v\u00e9nements tragiques lorsque tous les D\u00e9put\u00e9s se sont lev\u00e9s et ont chant\u00e9 ensemble, avec fiert\u00e9, l\u2019hymne national en d\u00e9montrant une unit\u00e9 et une d\u00e9termination sans pareil devant le pays et le monde. Jamais je ne pourrai oublier la foule qui a salu\u00e9 le cort\u00e8ge fun\u00e8bre tout le long des 500 km de l\u2019autoroute entre Ottawa et Hamilton en y d\u00e9ployant d\u2019immenses drapeaux canadiens.<BR>Heureusement, comme l\u2019a dit il y a quelques jours le Premier Ministre d\u00e9sign\u00e9 Justin Trudeau, la menace terroriste n\u2019a pas chang\u00e9 les Canadiens, car les Canadiens sont un peuple courtois, g\u00e9n\u00e9reux, ouvert et optimiste et parque le Canada a \u00e9t\u00e9 construit par des peuples provenant du monde entier, qui professent toutes les fois, appartiennent \u00e0 toutes les cultures et parlent toutes les langues.<BR>Sachez que comme l\u2019a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 il y a un an le Premier Ministre italien Matteo Renzi, l\u2019Italie est et sera toujours aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du Canada, pays auquel elle est li\u00e9e par une amiti\u00e9 profonde et des valeurs communes et avec le Canada elle ne c\u00e8dera jamais au chantage,\u00a0 ni \u00e0 l\u2019intimidation, ni \u00e0 la peur.<BR>Le 22 octobre dernier, lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie qui s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e devant le Monument comm\u00e9moratif de guerre, le Premier Ministre Harper et le Premier Ministre d\u00e9sign\u00e9 Trudeau ont d\u00e9couvert une plaque avec une\u00a0 phrase qui m\u2019a profond\u00e9ment marqu\u00e9 et qui restera grav\u00e9e pour toujours pour les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations futures:<BR>\u00a0<BR>\u201cEn l\u2019honneur du caporal Nathan Cirillo<BR>Tu\u00e9 le 22 octobre alors qu\u2019il faisait la sentinelle \u00e0 la pr\u00e9cieuse tombe du Soldat inconnu.<BR>Le caporal Cirillo n\u2019a jamais quitt\u00e9 son poste.<BR>Il montera \u00e9ternellement la garde et veillera sur le Canada\u201d Fin de citation<BR>\u00a0Nous ne l&#8217;oublierons jamais<BR>Merci<\/EM><\/P><br \/>\n<P><EM><\/EM>\u00a0<\/P><br \/>\n<P><BR><BR>\u00a0<\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Il 2 novembre 2015 a Ottawa presso il Museo dell&#8217;Aviazione e dello Spazio si \u00e8 svolta la celebrazione della Festa Nazionale delle Forze Armate, alla presenza dell\u2019Ambasciatore d\u2019Italia Gian Lorenzo Cornado e del Generale di Divisione Aerea Luca Goretti, Addetto per la Difesa e la Cooperazione per la Difesa.
