{"id":9824,"date":"2026-05-25T17:31:57","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T15:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/?p=9824"},"modified":"2026-05-25T23:51:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T21:51:47","slug":"vacancy-housekeeper-for-the-italian-ambassadors-residence-gatineau-quebec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2026\/05\/vacancy-housekeeper-for-the-italian-ambassadors-residence-gatineau-quebec\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacancy: Housekeeper for the Italian Ambassador&#8217;s Residence in Gatineau (Qu\u00e9bec)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ambassador of Italy to Canada is seeking to recruit a Housekeeper for his Residence in Gatineau, Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n<p>This is a full-time position, subject to a probationary period, and will start as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Roles and Responsibilities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The precise range of duties will vary over time, but will include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Overall management of day-to-day running of the Residence<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning of kitchen, food preparation areas and all kitchen equipment to a high standard<\/li>\n<li>Care and management of all assets in the Residence<\/li>\n<li>Set-up, organization, serving, and tidy-up of events<\/li>\n<li>Help in preparation of meals and catering of functions including receptions, buffets, sit down breakfasts, lunches and dinners<\/li>\n<li>To provide coffee\/tea and meeting facilities upon request<\/li>\n<li>Supervision of the Residence premises, including liaison with security, landscaping, and other contractors and delivery operatives on site<\/li>\n<li>First line maintenance and liaising with Embassy on maintenance and contracts<\/li>\n<li>Day-to-day cleaning of the public and private areas of the Residence<\/li>\n<li>Laundry \u2013 including washing, ironing and steaming<\/li>\n<li>Answering the door\/telephone and taking messages<\/li>\n<li>Upkeep of the immediate external areas (patio and walkways)<\/li>\n<li>Occasional front of-house duties at official events to support the wider team<\/li>\n<li>Out of hours work when required<\/li>\n<li>Notification of any repairs and maintenance required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Requirements candidates must be able to demonstrate<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working in hospitality<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English<\/li>\n<li>High degree of integrity and trust<\/li>\n<li>Reliable and can work on own initiative<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational and management skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must have the right to live and work in Canada at time of application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Terms and conditions of employment<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The successful candidate will be hired for a probation period of two weeks.
