The seminar \u201cBuilding Quantum Bridges: Italy\u2013Canada Partnership for the Quantum Future\u201d, organized by the Scientific Office of the Embassy of Italy in Canada and hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto, took place yesterday in Toronto.<\/p>\n
The initiative was held on the occasion of the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding. The first was signed between the Centre for Quantum Information and Quantum Control (CQIQC) and three leading Italian research institutions: the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). The second was signed between the same Italian research institutions, the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, and the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo.<\/p>\n
The two agreements lay the groundwork for further strengthening and structuring bilateral cooperation in the field of quantum technologies, fostering joint scientific initiatives, exchanges among researchers, and new synergies between the Italian and Canadian research ecosystems.<\/p>\n
The scientific meeting brought together representatives of the Italian and Canadian scientific and academic communities, providing an opportunity to exchange views on their respective expertise in the quantum field and on potential areas for collaboration, ranging from fundamental research to the development of new technologies and applications.<\/p>\n
