July 22, 2026<\/em> \u2013The journey of the Amerigo Vespucci continues in Canada<\/strong>. The Italian Navy’s Training Ship, part of the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour \u2013 North America Campaign 2026<\/strong> which began in Genoa on May 9th<\/sup>, is about to arrive in the province of Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>. It will make two stops<\/strong>, Qu\u00e9bec City<\/strong> from July 23rd<\/sup> to July 27th<\/sup> and Montreal<\/strong> from July 29th<\/sup> to August 3rd<\/sup>, continuing to showcase to the world the beauty, identity, cultural exchange, and culture of Italy and the Italian people. Over 1.5 million Canadians of Italian origin and about 160,000 Italian citizens live in Canada<\/strong> (28% of whom reside within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Italy in Montreal). This presence makes the Canadian leg of the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour \u2013 North America Campaign 2026 even more significant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Announced by Minister of Defence of the Government of the Italian Republic Guido Crosetto<\/strong>, the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour – North America Campaign 2026,<\/strong> is an initiative of the Italian Ministry of Defence<\/strong> and the Italian Navy<\/strong>, produced by Difesa Servizi S.p.A<\/strong>. \u00a0The project is developed in collaboration with: Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong>, Italian Ministry of Culture<\/strong>, Italian Minister for Sport and Youth<\/strong> and Italian Minister for Disabilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Amerigo Vespucci World Tour \u2013 North America Campaign 2026 is supported by ITA \u2013 Italian Trade Agency, Fiera di Verona-Vinitaly, and Enel.<\/p>\n

In Qu\u00e9bec City, the Amerigo Vespucci <\/strong>will take part in the 7th edition of the Rendez-vous naval de Qu\u00e9bec, <\/strong>the prestigious international gathering of ships, held in the port of Qu\u00e9bec City on the banks of the St. Lawrence River from July 23rd<\/sup> to 26th<\/sup>, which for the 2026 edition will host six large military sailing ships, three next-generation vessels representing the Canadian Coast Guard, the U.S. Navy, and the Royal Canadian Navy<\/strong>. The public will be able to admire these extraordinary vessels moored in the harbor and board them free of charge during visiting hours.<\/p>\n

During the stop in Qu\u00e9bec City<\/strong>, the Amerigo Vespucci<\/strong>, ambassador of Italian excellence around the world, on Saturday July 25th<\/sup> at 4:30 pm<\/strong> will host the presentation of the next Vinitaly.USA<\/strong>, scheduled to take place in New York on October 26 and 27 2026.<\/p>\n

Veronafiere, Vinitaly, and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) will present Vinitaly.USA<\/strong> during a meeting focused on the role of Italian wine in the North American market. The event will gather several Italian institutions providing a forum to discuss on wine quality, production culture, and regional diversity, key themes of the upcoming Vinitaly.USA 2026, the benchmark event for those seeking to showcase and promote the excellence of Italian wine overseas.<\/p>\n

Speakers will include the Italian Ambassador to Canada Alessandro Cattaneo, President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Matteo Zoppas, the Chief Executive Officer of Difesa Servizi S.p.A. Luca Andreoli, the President of Veronafiere Federico Bricolo, and the Managing Director of Vinitaly International Stevie Kim, preceded by a welcome address from the Commanding officer of ITS Amerigo Vespucci Captain Nicasio Falica. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Embassy of Italy in Canada<\/strong>, the R\u00e9seau Qu\u00e9bec Maritime, Universit\u00e9 Laval, and the Port of Qu\u00e9bec <\/strong>have organized a scientific event titled \u201cCap sur l\u2019avenir. Oc\u00e9ans, vie et navigation durable<\/strong>\u201d. It will be held on July 24th<\/sup> at 3:30 p.m. <\/strong>at the Ross Gaudreault Cruise Terminal 84 (Port of Qu\u00e9bec Auditorium)<\/strong> and it will focus on sustainable navigation and digital technologies. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with Embassy representatives, scientific, and industrial professionals, while admiring one of the world’s most famous tall ships.<\/p>\n
