{"id":819,"date":"2022-12-14T21:27:26","date_gmt":"2022-12-14T20:27:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/?page_id=819"},"modified":"2024-10-03T21:45:02","modified_gmt":"2024-10-03T19:45:02","slug":"youth-mobility-visa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/visti\/youth-mobility-visa\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth Mobility Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Italy-Canada Youth Mobility Program<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The new agreement between Italy and Canada on Youth Mobility, which entered into force on November 1, 2022, allows young people between 18 and 35 years of age from either Country to spend up to 12 months in the other Country and seek temporary paid employment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is a significant opportunity for Canadian youths to develop a deeper understanding of the Italian language, culture and lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please note that, under the new agreement, participants are entitled to work for the entire authorization of stay, a maximum duration of twelve (12) months, including with the same employer if they so choose. Every young person may participate in the program a maximum of two times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">WHERE TO APPLY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The Italian Consulates will accept Youth Mobility Program applications from Canadian citizens residing in their respective geographical jurisdictions. <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\">To find the appropriate Consulate for your place of residence, click here: <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/serviziconsolarionline.esteri.it\/ScoFE\/services\/consulate\/find-consulate.sco;jsessionid=D55B3E49ABB66F62D4817DD084A188F4\">Servizi Consolari Online (esteri.it)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Canadian citizens who wish to participate in this bilateral program must obtain the necessary visa before leaving Canada. They CANNOT apply for their visa after arriving in Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Equally, Italian Citizens who wish to apply to this program for Canada must contact the Canadian Embassy in Rome.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">WHO CAN APPLY FOR AN ITALIAN VISA<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Applicants must meet the following requirements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">be between 18 and 35 years of age on the date of application;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">be<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> a Canadian citizen and possess a valid Canadian passport.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>WHAT TYPE OF VISA ?<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">You can apply either for a Working Holiday visa, a Work visa or Study\/Intern visa. For further information <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\">please consult <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><a href=\"http:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home\/en\">http:\/\/vistoperitalia.esteri.it\/home\/en<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">REQUIRED DOCUMENTS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">1.<\/span>\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-CA\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ambottawa.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/workingholidayvisaapplicationform.pdf\"><strong>National visa application form*<\/strong><\/a> carefully and correctly completed and signed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">2.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> One recent passport-size colour photo (must have been taken less than six months before the application), size 35mm x 40mm, full-face and light coloured background. Face must be correctly centred and must be seen from a front view, with both sides visible. Styled poses (looking over one shoulder, head bowed etc.) are not allowed. The head must be free of all headgear, no hats, scarves, headbands or other decorative objects;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">3.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> Passport, valid for at least 3 months after the visa expiry date, as well as photocopies of the first 2 pages and of visas previously issued, if any. There must be at least two blank pages in the passport;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">4.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> A copy of your round trip flight reservation and full itinerary. Buying your ticket in advance does not ensure that a visa will be issued;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">5.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> For a Work visa no financial proof is required. For a <\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Working Holiday visa and Study\/Intern visa<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\">, applicants must prove to have sufficient financial resources, a minimum of 1,900 Euro (equivalent to C$ 2,600 approximately). The availability of these funds must be shown by providing:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" type=\"disc\">\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">bank statements for the last 3 months;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">a<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> credit card in the applicant&#8217;s name with sufficient credit to cover costs.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">6.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> Health Insurance policy with a minimum coverage of Euro 30.000 for emergency medical consultation, including hospitalization and repatriation, for the entire length of the stay (12 months);<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">7.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> A curriculum vitae (resume).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">8.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> Additional requirements by category :<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">A) <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Working Holiday visa<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&#8211; declaration of the applicant certifying the intention to travel to Italy and to work temporarily to supplement their financial resources;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Please, note that the procedure for a \u201cPermesso di Soggiorno\u201d (residency permit) must be initiated within 8 days of arriving in Italy in order to validate the 12 months visa. Therefore, the holder of the Working Holiday Visa is kindly requested to visit the \u201cQuestura\u201d (Police Headquarters) with his Canadian passport, and a photocopy thereof, along with 4 passport-size photos and one \u201cimposta di bollo\u201d (tax stamp) of Euro 16, and submit application for a \u201cPermesso di Soggiorno\u201d by filling out the appropriate application form. Subsequently the employer will apply for the work authorization to the \u201cSportello Unico per l\u2019Immigrazione \u2013 SUI\u201d (local immigration office).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">B) <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Work visa<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&#8211; Authorization to work (work permit) initiated by the employer and issued by the \u201cSportello Unico per l\u2019Immigrazione \u2013 SUI\u201d (local immigration office) that forwards it electronically to the competent Consulate. The addresses and contact information of the relevant \u201cQuestura\u201d are available at: <\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><a href=\"http:\/\/questure.poliziadistato.it\/\">http:\/\/questure.poliziadistato.it\/<\/a><\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">C) <\/span><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">Study\/Intern visa<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&#8211; Documentation certifying enrollment at an academic institution in the country of origin or residence;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&#8211; Proof of accommodation in Italy <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">&#8211; Documentation on the internship to be carried out in Italy, relevant to one&#8217;s field of study; <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">HOW TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Applicants must book an appointment in order to submit their application and ALL the required documents in person. The amount vary depending upon the type of visa and exchange rate. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span lang=\"EN-CA\">PLEASE BE ADVISED:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The processing time for the visa is approximately 14 days from the date in which you submit the application and document.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Incomplete visa applications will not be accepted and will be returned without processing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Please note the Consular Offices reserve the right to ask for additional documents at any time during processing.
