On November 1st 2022, the Italy-Canada Agreement on Youth Mobility entered into effect. The new Agreement replaces the Working Holiday Memorandum of 2006 and offers broader opportunities by broadening the categories of participants and increasing working and training opportunities in Canada for young Italians between the ages of 18 and 35.
The categories are:
- Working holiday for youth wishing to travel in Canada and supplement their financial resources through temporary employment in Canada;
- Young professionals, for young people with a post-secondary degree interested in temporary-contract work experience to support their professional development;
- International Co-op for post-secondary students looking for a co-op or internship position in their field of study.
The mobility periods last maximum 12 months. A participant is eligible in total for a maximum of two periods.
