The fourth edition of 'Fare Cinema' will be held from 14 to 20 June, the festival dedicated to Italian cinema abroad promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, ANICA, the Italian Trade Agency, and Istituto Luce – Cinecittà.
The 2021 edition, entitled 'Reboot – Italian Cinema Restart', underlines the Italian film industry’s extraordinary ability to rebound in the face of the pandemic crisis, and focuses especially on the 'filmmaking crafts'.
Like last year, ‘Fare Cinema’ will take place online. All content will be available on the Italiana portal. Starting Monday on the Italiana Vimeo channel, you will find the five finalists in the 'Best Short Film' category of the David di Donatello Awards 2021 ('Italian Screens' with the Accademia del cinema italiano and ANICA); three documentary premieres from the Turin International Book Fair that follow the translation of great novels from the page to the screen (‘BookToScreen’) and the complete series of short films made for the ‘Corti d’Autore’ project (with ANICA). And still more, video clips, interviews and online meetings with members of the audiovisual industry (‘Reboot’ / ‘The new embrace of cinema’, with the Fondazione Cinema per Roma and curated by Mario Sesti).
Beginning June 14, for six weeks, the ‘Oltre lo schermo’ review, curated by Audiovisiva presents 15 documentaries on the crafts of Italian filmmaking, accessible for free on Italiana.
The Fare Cinema program culminates on Saturday 19 June with the celebration of the second Italian Film Day.
