Farnesina offers condolences on the passing of Nemer Hammad

Upon learning of the passing of Nemer Hammad, Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) representative in Italy and later Palestinian Ambassador to Italy until 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offers its sincere condolences to his family and to the Palestinian government. A tireless activist and diplomat, Nemer Hammad dedicated his life to the cause of his people. For many years, he consistently pursued the interests and aspirations to self-determination of the people of Palestine, promoting – when the time was right – a dialogue with Israel to achieve a peaceful coexistence between the two States. The Farnesina is committed to fulfil this goal.
