in collaboration with Jobel North America and

cordially invite you to
SMARTALK LEONARDO DA VINCI
Lecture, dance, singing, storytelling.
To celebrate the 19th Week of the Italian Language in the World, with this year’s theme of “Italian on the Stage,” the Embassy of Italy and the Embassy of Switzerland, in collaboration with Jobel North America and Carleton University, present the intriguing and mysterious figure of Leonardo Da Vinci, on the occasion of the five hundredth anniversary of his death, through the innovative format of SmarTalk.
SmarTalk uses the performing arts and cutting-edge multimedia tools to convey scientific, technical, and commercial content.
The Italian language as interpreted by Leonardo Da Vinci, also a prolific author of technical-scientific treatises, poems, and personal essays, is a window onto the Italian and European Renaissance. The performance is an alternative to the traditional presentation, conveying the beauty and the richness of the Italian language, and Da Vinci’s use of that language, through innovative theatre arts and technologies.
The event will take place on November 4th at 7:00 p.m. in Richcraft Hall on the Carleton University campus, and will be presented in English; there will be some Italian passages that will allow the audience to hear Da Vinci’s original use of the language.
Admission is free; seating is limited.
